International Women's Day Highlights - APAC Staff Got Involved to #BreakTheBias
International Women's Day (IWD) provides a key moment to celebrate women's achievements in the workplace and inspires further women to achieve their full potential. Echoing the international theme “Break the bias” this year, Luye Medical offices expressed gratitude to our incredible female staff across Asia Pacific sites, which account for more than half of our employees, for their great work and wished them a happy holiday.
In Shanghai office, morning tea, flowers, gifts and small-scale events made our day. In addition, Ms. Jessie Ma of New Hongqiao Project, and Ms. Deng Siyun of Mindfront Health (China), shared their knowledge of skincare and mental health during the "Women's Theme Month - Shall We Chat" seminar.
We believe that words can make an invaluable impact and it goes a long way, so that both our female and male colleagues across APAC sites actively joined the worldwide #BreakTheBias campaign by writing down encouraging quotes to share love and show their support of and appreciation for women.
Are we Wonderwoman or Superman? It doesn't matter because all of us are Luyer! Through these simple but meaningful commitment, we aim to call out bias, smash stereotypes, break inequality, and reject discrimination on the day and beyond. Let’s take a look!
Liu Aona——Fortunately, we are now in an era of pursuing equal rights between men and women. While many countries and societies have recognised the importance of women and emphasised women's power, the most important thing for us is to awaken ourselves and find our real power without distinction and prejudice; and to give, to tolerate, to accept, to take responsibility with love.
Singapore:How to break the bias? Singapore colleagues shared their thoughts - both meaningful and interesting.
Kathleen He——Let’s be true and be better in an environment of equality, respect, inclusion, diversity and gratitude.
Manaen Ma——Personally, I wouldn't be the 'Man' I am today without a strong ally in 'Woman' at every stage of my life. Starting from my mother, school teacher and boss, from my wife and finally my 1-year-old daughter. Every woman deserves respect!
Wai Jin (a lady often being mistaken for a male with her name)——In a world of equality, there should not be a day dedicated to celebrate women because men and women are ordinary humans, serving our purposes for the greater good of all.
Dr. Peter Ang——To all the women in OncoCare, you are wonderful in carrying out the work you do every day with aplomb and verve ! Many of you are wives, daughters, mothers, sisters, homemakers with many other duties and responsibilities. You make all the work seem light with your beautiful smiles every day!
